South Korea No.1 marine tourist destination, Tongyeong & Geoje

Tongyeong, in the heart of  Halyeo Marine National Park, is South Korea's No. 1 marine tourist destination. Tongyeong is known for its scenic beauty and good climate. Geoje is also a beautiful island with famous tourist attractions such as Oedo Botania, Haegeumgang, and the Hill of Wind. I'm happy to introduce a very pleasant trip with various cultural spaces and wonderful scenery through Youtube.

○ Cable cars in the sky and luge on the ground
You can see the scenery of  an island-rich sea Halyeo Marine National Park on Mt. Mireuk in Tongyeong. You can easily get to the observatory of Mt. Mireuk by cable car. Not only the view from the observatory, but also the Tongyeong city view is wonderful when you go up by cable car.
You can ride a long course of luge in Tongyeong, which is much more interesting than you thought.
Tip.You can choose how many times you ride, but I recommend riding twice rather than too many times.

○ Seopirang Mural Village & Seoporu
Seopirang, a dark town long ago, is famous for its mural villages with Dongpirang. There are 99 steps, Park Kyung-ni literary village, piano stairs, Yoon Yi Sang's way to school, and so on. Also, the scenic spot on the top of Seoporu, is widely known as a photo-taking site. The narrow landscape of  mountain village , the scenery around Gang-gu-an, and the beautiful Seopirang village scenery transformed by the efforts of the residents.

○ Forest of Mirae temple cypress trees & coastal bicycle path
Miraesa is a temple of Tongyeong. The path to Mirae Temple is a cypress forest, and the scent of the cypress tree is refreshing. And the cypress forest route reach to the sea The cat I met by chance showed me the way. There is a Buddha statue on the shore towards the sea, and palm trees are very exotic.
Tongyeong bike path scenery is very beautiful. I rented a electric kickboard because my girlfriend said it was hot and hard.
I rode the pedals with difficulty and when I saw the electric kick board.....ha ha

○ Yi Sun-sin Park
Japan has had many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Since the past, Japan has always aspired to invade the Korean Peninsula and advance to China. When Japan invaded Joseon,
Lee Sun-shin(the greatest general) defeated 133 Japanese ships with only 12 ships. Yi Sun-shin Park is a place to commemorate General Yi Sun-shin who defeated the enemy with a strong spirit against Japanese aggression.
You can see not only the historical sites, but also the beautiful view of the beach in Tongyeong. The beautiful Yi Sun-sin Park is a must-see destination.

○ Geoje Haegeumgang & Oedo Botania
Haegeumgang is on the southern sea of Geoje Island, and there are various shapes of stone islands soar into the sky, creating a magnificent spectacle. The shape is called Geojehaegeumgang because it reminds us of Mount Geumgang in North Korea. You have to take a cruise ship to travel to Oedo and Haegeumgang. We took a cruise at the Gujora passenger terminal.
The captain went through the Haegeumgang and explained the scenery of the islands with an announcement.

The cruise ship arrived at Oedo via the Haegeumgang. Botania was completed by the special effort of Lee Chang-ho and his wife Choi Ho-sook from 1969, and later became famous place for dramas and advertisements.
Botania is a large garden filled with exotic and tropical plants such as palm trees and cactus, and rare plants. The 'steps of heaven' made of cypress forest and the 'Venus park' at the top are also really beautiful. Traveling in Botania, we could admire the hard work of Lee Chang-ho and his wife, who have made the paradise of plants.
Botania is a combination of German word Botanik, which means plant, and Utopia, which means paradise. So it is a plant paradise.
Tip.You can tour the entire island for only about 50 minutes. I think it's too short, and the Ferris wheel and other vehicles are not allowed in Oedo. And campings or staying over night are not allowed either.

○ Geoje Island,..and wind hill
Geoje Island is the second largest island in Korea. It is an island with many beaches and tourist attractions. Since the 1970s, large shipyards have been built, making it feel like industrial areas are covering the island's beauty. The Hill of Wind is a scenic hill in the village of Dojangpo, south of Geoje Island.
If you follow a wooden walkway from the seashore to the hill, you will see Hakdong Village, famous for its Mongdol Beach, and a view of the open sea.
The sea .wind is so strong. So there are only short plants on the hill. You can see a colony of camellias that endured the sea wind for a long time.

Yang-gu,the center of Korean peninsula Trip

As you know, Korea is divided into two countries. South and North Korea. Also, it is mandatory for Korean men to join the military.
Yanggu is an area located just in front of the Demilitarized Zone. Therefore, there are many military units and most Korean men think of  Yanggu as military areas. However, recent exchanges between South and North Korea have opened up previously inaccessible areas to tourists. I think it is meaningful to introduce a trip to the clean area, Yanggu through YouTube.

○ Park Soo-geun Museum
Park Soo-geun is one of representative Korean artists. And he was born in Gangwon Province, he painted many works featuring ordinary people's lives. Park Soo-keun Museum of Art displays works by various artists in addition to his works containing his Korean ethnic sentiments. In addition, the museum itself has a beautiful view, so it is a good place to go for a walk or a contemplative space.

○ Punch Bowl Village
The village of Punch Bowl is a basin in the alpine region of Yanggu County. It began to be called a punch bowl because it was a bowl-shaped land surrounded by mountains. This area is a battleground between South and North Korea during the Korean War.
It used to be off-limits to the public, but it was opened recently for tourists. There are still signs of  'landmine' over the area. It is one of the most beautiful and unique  areas in Korea, but not much-known tourist destination, Punch Bowl Village, recommended.

○ Dutayeon, Sculpture Park and the Way to Mt. Geumgang
Dutayeon was also off-limits to the public, but it was opened recently for tourists. It is known as Korea's largest habitat for Brachymystax lenok, and it is a natural monument place because of its beautiful scenery. Tours are available from Dutayeon to the entrance of the road to Mount Geumgang via the sculpture park. The best Korean mountain, Mt. Geumgang(located on North Korea)was not able to travel. We could travel only to the entrance of the  mountain. The road was so rough that we could barely walk along with my bicycles.

 

○ Paroho Lake, Korean Peninsula Island
Paroho Lake is an artificial lake in Yanggu. This place also has a historical background. During the Korean War, China fought to support North Korea. This is a battleground where Korean and U.N. forces combined to defeat Chinese troops during the Korean War. The name Farrow means 'we defeated the enemy.'
The deep, clean Paroho Lake was peaceful, as if trying to conceal its sorrow. There is a special island in the lake, which is an artificial island shaped like the Korean Peninsula. Because this is the site of history with a painful past, the Korean Peninsula island has a special meaning for reunification.

○ Other...
A five-day market has been held in Yanggu. Traditionally, markets have been held once every five days because this is not a populated area. The flavor of the traditional market, the food of the night market, the sudden shower, were all romantic trips.

An island with a beautiful sunset, Ganghwa Island

Ganghwado is the fourth largest island in Korea. Located on the estuary of the Han River, it is a historic and beautiful island bordering Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province to the east. The name Ganghwa also comes from the meaning of 'the beautiful village under the river.' I will introduce video clips of trips to various tourist attractions in Ganghwa through YouTube.

○ Hanok(traditional Korean houses), Dosol Museum & Gyodong Island
Ganghwa Island has many cultural and artistic spaces. The representative hanok  Dosol art museum is a beautiful art museum where visitors can appreciate the beauty of hanok as well as the art works.
Gyodong Island is a DMZ zone, so it was not accessible to the public until recently. Therefore, you can see buildings in the 1970s and 1980s and bring back memories of the past. In Daeryong Market, there is a famous tea house where you can drink the traditional style of Ssanghwa tea, and it tasted as good as its reputation.

○ Sound Experience Museum(Sorichehum Bakmulgwan)
The Sound Experience Museum is also one of Ganghwa's cultural spaces. It is not just a place to show the development of sound devices, but a place where the audience can experience sound directly through the performance of various instruments and sound devices. It was very interesting and fun to deal with instruments and devices that produced the sounds of nature.

○ Jeondeungsa(Temple)
One of the oldest Buddhist temples in Korea, Jeondeungsa is a representative Ganghwa tourist attraction. I went to Jeondeungsa by bicycle from Kimpo Choji Bridge. I got in the wrong way in the middle of the way, but the lady kindly showed me the way. Thank you. The slope was so steep that I was suffocating. I recommend  Jeondeungsa, a temple with beautiful scenery.

○ Old factory gallery, art of installing waste products: Joyang Bangjik
Opened in 1933, Joyang Bangjik is South Korea's first textile factory made with Korean capital and a historic site where the modern textile industry began. At that time, Korea was ruled by Japan.
After the 1960s, when nylon became popular, Joyang Bangjik quickly declined. The building, which had been abandoned, was opened as a cafe and gallery. The structure of the old factory building remained intact, and the abandoned items were turned into huge artworks. The charm of a noble space and a slightly odd space staying between the past and the present. It's a must-visit cultural space.

○ Bo Moon-sa
Seokmo is also an island close to Ganghwado Island. It used to be possible to go only by boat, but now we can be there through Seokmo Bridge by car. Bomunsa Temple in Seokmodo Island is one of Korea's three major Gwaneumyeong-sa Temple. It is a famous temple because praying at the cave of the eyebrow rock above the temple is said to be a good place to have children. It is also a very special temple where you can see a huge lying Buddha statue, Wabul and 500 nahans.

○ Donggeomdo & Janghwa-ri sunset view.
Donggeom Island is also a small island near Ganghwado Island. There are DRFA 365 art theater and reed with a good view.
We took out tables and chairs and ate raw fish, using the trunk door as shade.
Korea's west coast has many places to see the sunset, and Janghwa-ri sunset view is a famous place. When we arrived, the weather was nice, so we could see the sunset at the open observatory.

It is a cozy and friendly place of travel in the West Sea of Korea, a place where historical places and cultural and artistic spaces mingle with time.

Danyang, the best travel destination in central Korea

Hi, it's me again.

Do you know Korea Danyang? What do you think when you hear the name Danyang?
I'm going to introduce my impressive  Danyang travel through YouTube video.

○ There is a puppy taking pictures with him in Danyang.
When we went paragliding Café Mountain.
When Heartz(my girlfriend) was enjoying the beauty of Danyang in the slim ridge photo zone, the puppy jumped to her. And the puppy(living in a paragliding village) took picture with her, and it was very surprising. You can see the puppy in the YouTube video clip. My girlfriend was never going to ride paragliding because she was scared, but she first got into paragliding because of the puppy's cute behavior. I felt like I was flying in the sky with the wind all over.I recommend  Paragliding village called Café Mountain.

○ Mancheonha Sky Walk & Nuerimbo Road
Mancheonha Sky Walk is a place where you can see the Namhangang(Southern Han River) curved water stream and the beautiful Danyang's panoramic view from the towering peak observatory. Mancheonha means the whole world.
If you come down to the parking lot, you will find Nuerimbo Road(slow walkway) where you can enjoy the streams of the Namhangang. The scenery is fresh as it was newly developed as a tracking course.

○ Danyang, the best travel destination in central Korea
In addition, the cliff of a screen-like landscape, Sainam(Rock Cliff)
The Chungju-ho cruise ship offers views of Gudambong and Oksunbong (Danyang Palgyeong) (There are Chungju-ho cruise ships at several places, but you have to board at Janghoe Naru).
And the beautiful and amazing tunnel called Suyang-gea light tunnel, etc..

It was so fantastic and exciting trip that I can never forget!!

Ramsar Marsh Suncheon Bay Trip

Suncheonman is a bay in South Korea's southern coast, where streams flowed into the sea to form a large mudflat zone. I am happy to introduce the unique and wonderful scenery of Suncheonman on YouTube video.

○ Suncheonman National Garden
The Suncheonman National Garden was created to protect Suncheon Bay. There are gardens from all over the world in the form of exhibitions. So Suncheonman National Garden is very, very large. Bicycles are  prohibited so you must see the gardens on foot. Or you can get on a  tourist car. There are restaurants in the garden and you can bring some food. There are natural shade screens and rest areas, so you can relax and enjoy sightseeing. At the end of the garden we could get on a small train reach to the Suncheon Bay wetlands. (It's a long way to reach the wetlands of Suncheonman Bay. (I think it's better to travel in two days) Hearts(my girlfriend) and I could not tour all the gardens, but we toured representative gardens and huge mountain lanterns. A place where there are so many beautiful places. I recommend it.

○ Nakan Eupseong Village
Nakan Eupseong is a traditional preservation village from Joseon Dynasty. It preserves the traditional beauty of the early houses of the Joseon Dynasty. When we visited, it was just during the festival, so we could see Pumba performance, Namsadang Ostricking, and traditional performances. Especially, we could eat delicious food because it was during the traditional food festival.

○ Suncheonman Wetland
Suncheonman Wetlands are open to reeds and mudflats like the sea. It is a place where migratory birds and mudflats have all the natural conditions to live. Suncheonman Bay was registered in the Ramsar Wetlands in 2006.
Suncheonman Bay was such a large tourist destination that I rode my bike and watched it. We could see many migratory birds and livings of mudflats. In particular, it was very spectacular to see Suncheon Bay's wide field reeds moving in the wind from Yongsan Observatory.

○Suncheon filming location & Sunam Temple
The filming location is the shooting place of Korea's numerous dramas and movies. It is a reproduction of the Dal-dong-nae, a town in the 70s and 80s. This is a place where you can borrow old Korean school uniforms and take pictures.

Seonamsa (Temple) is one of the most beautiful temples in Korea. In particular, Seonamsa Valley is famous for its beautiful scenery and clean water streams.

○ Traditional market
There are two big traditional markets in Suncheon, the Utjang and the Araetjang. Utjang means the upper market and the Araetjang means the lower market. There is a night market every weekend. We stopped by the night market on the weekend to watch the event performance and had traditional BBQ and makgeolli.

Suncheon has an outstanding view of Suncheonman, and it is a wonderful tourist destination with traditions such as Nakan Eupseong. a must-have destination on when you come to Korea. I recommend you visit. Thank you.
